Overall Review: I have lots of little gripes however this was the first 2k basketball game for pc so hopefully they will fix some of the issues in 2k10. The Easy mode is too easy, the next 2 easiest are too frustrating, and the most difficult is impossible. For instance, sometimes the ref will hold on to the ball for 10-15 seconds before tossing to to the player for an inbound or free throw (even more annoying when the computer gets an "and 1" after making one of those leaning, fall away 3 pointers) Another one, after manually calling a timeout the computer will immediately call one for you right after. Your players will miss wide open layups and then the computer will turn around and hit a leaning, fall away 3 pointer from 2 steps behind the line.Īlso, there seems to be a lot of little bugs. Billups guarding Shaq or something ridiculous like that. On defense if you run by a player you're not guarding the AI will automatically call a switch for you leaving C. I seldom can justify buying a game at full price but for this one I can say it was worth it.Ĭons: Incredibly annoying AI. Lots of cool plays, nice practice mode, fun "street ball" side games. First PC sports game I've seen that uses next gen graphics. Overall Review: other than the steam thing, this is a great game for the basketball lover.

Once you install it, you have to wait until it downloads a huge patch automatically. Overall, if you're open, you can make it, if you're forcing it, you can't (unless you're a superstar). They computer's AI is pretty smart, and finds the open person if you cheat and double team, at which they usually make the shot. Game play is realistic - no "ice skating effect" like NBA live of few years go, and rebounds and passes are realistic. Even their free throw patterns are done correctly. Originally, my video card could not handle it, but now with this card (SAPPHIRE 100255L Radeon HD 4670 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express) I'm fine.Ĭan't believe how realistic it is - down to each players shot, and how they move. Pros: I'm not a gamer, but at $20, I had to buy this game.
